Testing your Internet connection to avoid drops

We’ve done a few stress tests and know that Direct Connect works if you have 0.78 Mbps (780 kbps) download and .33 Mbps (330 kbps) upload speeds with at least 100ms latency.

You can head to SpeedTest.net and click “Begin Test” to check that your speeds are higher than those listed above.

If you still experience connectivity issues (choppy audio, for example), make sure that you and others using your connection are not streaming videos, gaming, or doing other activities that burden your bandwidth. Even though you might not be streaming movies, someone in your home or office might be.
